About The Event

Hearts on Fire - True Intimacy: The Power of Presence

Join us for this mini-day retreat that supports us to tap into the power of being with what is. Through metta meditation (Loving-Kindness) practices we are able to transcend fears, recognizing what separates us from True Love. The retreat is an invitation to practice being with the self in order to remember that we are Love, we have all we need, and that all is coming. The day will include additional meditation practices, Dharma talks, connection with nature (Heart Hike), and a bonfire gathering. This retreat is designed to be a meditative (Dhyana) experience tapping into the power of sensation. There will be no formal asana practice. Cushions (Kopak), blankets, tea, snacks/light lunch, and water will be provided. Please dress for the weather and nature, even if slightly misty. (Adjustments will be made if inclement weather). Please bring a notebook/journal, something to write with, other snacks, water bottles, etc. and any other creature comforts.

Description of Trekker Lodge: Trekker Lodge is in the heart of Lapham Peak in the Southern Kettle Moraine Forest unit. The lodge is spacious and offers a supportive environment complete with a fireplace, heat, water, bathrooms (found adjacent the property). Hiking paths are located right outside the lodge. There are several hills on the paths with various grades. Note: If snow is present, the main hiking trails will be closed and groomed for skiers, but the Ice Age Trail will remain open for hikers, which is also located near the lodge. If there is no snow, all hiking paths are available. Deer, cranes, and other forest creatures many times grace us with their presence. The parking lot is located up the path from the lodge.
