My inspiration to work with cardboard boxes & toilet rolls is from the desire to be resourceful with what I have & create less waste. There are so many ways that cardboard can be crafted into beautiful things and I want you to see the potential of a UPS box or carboard toilet roll tube to be another form. One person's toilet paper roll is another person's Christmas ornament!
Deborah Doerflinger
I make one of a kind bowls that are made from recycled magazines. I make Cold Process Soap, 15 different types, with Holiday designs too! I also make Natural Healing Salves, an all purpose skin salve, a soothing foot balm, & a sleep balm. Being an Upcycling Artist gives me a sense of social responsibility along with the challenge of making something beautiful from discarded materials. My work aims to bring more awareness to the abundance of discarded materials on our planet.

Heidi Nehring
For me, writing is spiritual in nature. A binding through a microscopic sense of looking at beingness from nature’s platforms; observing the swirling emotions and natural sensations that move throughout the pulsing of the human heart. It’s my personal practice of integration, connection, relationship, transformation with all of it; a reciprocity of the Soul and human heart. Curating spiritual reflective books through poetry and prose.

Judy Grochowski
I love the flow of pastel painting (& plein air). I also feel strongly about responding to current “events”. Sometimes through metaphor, sometimes more overtly. Mediums include pastel, cold wax, and oil mixed media.
Lauren Bushman
Working with my hands feels aligned deep within my soul. I often look to nature for inspiration and like to work with as much natural material as possible. I spend a lot of my time outside gathering, foraging, and drawing inspiration from my surroundings. I’m fascinated with traditional ways, folk medicine, and ancestral living and strive to incorporate more of that into my art. Slow processes. Clay, fibers, some jewelry, up cycled clothing, natural botanical medicine.
Liana Kapelke-Dale
Inspiration includes so many things! The natural world and the female form are two of my biggest inspirations. I also just really enjoy working with new media and finding ways of incorporating them into my pieces. Mixed media including linocut block printing, acrylics, watercolors and watercolor pencils, and more.
Matt Filipiak
A lot of my foto finding is intertwined with my practice of being and breathing. I intentionally utilize the focusing opportunities to still my mind, slow my breath, and feel the infinite interconnectedness as I strive to share a bit of the joy of connecting with our existence experience. I like to share the awesomeness, beauty, patterns, and infinite wonder that I see here on Earth & my camera phone is simply delightful at helping that happen!
Megan Lang Roder
Working with clay is a meditative process for me. I am present with each piece as I wedge, hand-build or throw it on the wheel, and paint/carve details. Each mug is made slowly with love, with the intention that when you drink from it, you can feel the love put in, slow down, and enjoy a moment of presence with your cozy warm drink. I make all my pieces with recycled clay.
Mickey Thiry - Mickey Thiry Designs
Mickey’s artistic process is grounded in a deep reverence for nature, community, and embodiment. Drawing inspiration from natural material and native flora and fauna, her work invites quiet reflection and celebrates the beauty of everyday life. Each piece is created with intention, often combining materials to highlight delicate detail and organic form. Natural materials: watercolor, clay, ink, hemp, and wooden or seed beads.
Sarah Talaska - S.W. Talaska Art
Since childhood, I've been drawn to religious art. Altars, reliquaries, and depictions of the Virgin Mary or saints have heavily influenced the content and appearance of my art. I'm also a lifelong fan of things that are eerily beautiful. H.R. Giger, Clive Barker, and Francis Bacon are some of my favorite artists. Multimedia! Gouache, watercolors, pastels, and ink.
