Embodied Yoga Classes
Classical Yoga (Hatha Vinyasa): Connect to your heart's calling, your innate power, your voice and authenticity. Students can anticipate longer holds for postures, strong emphasis on the breath/ pranayama techniques and guided meditation to support the physical practice. Pace and sequences will align to Ayurvedic cycle/ season to offer greater balance to all practitioners. Enjoy a practice that is most devotional: the greatest love you will ever know is you, dear one. All levels are most welcome.
Foundational Flow (Hatha Vinyasa): With strong roots we have the capacity to rise, expand and flourish which is why Foundational Flow intends to introduce the fundamentals of a well-rounded yoga practice for supreme wellbeing. In this class we practice intentional breathing/ pranayama, breakdown postures to explore foundation and alignment, and we take our "seats" in meditation. Each week will focus on a different yogic principle that will take you beyond the mat to build a sustainable practice that serves from the inside out. All are welcome: from the open-minded beginner to the most seasoned practitioner, sadhana/ practice develops greater self awareness and refinement of your practice to align with your body-mind.
Candlelit/ Twilight Yoga (Hatha): Yoga supports us to remember that we belong to the light. During these times, may we take time to curate a lovely, nurturing and quiescent atmosphere most conducive for contemplation and communion with the Divine. We guide community through a well-balanced and most nourishing asana, pranayama and meditation practice that seeks to transform the mundane moment to the hushed sublime of the sacred. All levels welcome to this weekly evening practice.
Hatha Renewal: Welcome to your Friday morning renewal, sangha! Ha translates to “sun” and Tha to “moon”, so Hatha equates to a means of balancing opposing energies. In modern times, we have grown connected (even overly so) to our minds and thoughts, and as a result, have largely disconnected from our bodies. With mindful movement and open awareness, Hatha Renewal supports us to strengthen and balance the body-mind connection so that we may live with greater intention and compassion on and off of the mat.
Heart Hatha: This sadhana (practice) invites people of all levels to enjoy the healing benefits of Yoga in its most classical form. Breathe deeply and connect to feeling within your body. Learning to work honestly at your edges, you develop effective tools to to maintain connected to yourself and the world around you. Only through connected living (yoga) is it possible for integrity, self awareness and playful curiosity to become part of your daily life. Your only requirement for class is a willingness to learn how to feel authentically and to respond honestly.
Chakras in Motion (Vinyasa): Chakras are specific points of energy in the body that take attention and focus to remain open, balanced and aligned. Chakras correspond to nerve bundles, organs and other structures in our energetic body that affect our physical and emotion well-being. This class aims to expand knowledge of the seven main chakras coupled with an orthopedic approach to bodily alignment in movement, to form a rounded vinyasa practice that improves the energetic and physical bodies. Expect a varied combination of held poses and breath, to movement flows that not only strengthen, but improve cardiovascular endurance. Come join us for an engaging hour that will invigorate and inspire all practitioners.
The Power of Play (Hatha-Vinyasa): This class provides a little more wiggle room and support to explore and deepen within your practice. Enjoy the space to go beyond the poses and into a deeper connection of light-hearted play within your body. We will breakdown postures to find what feels good; we aim to enjoy life inside these bodies! After warming the body with vinyasa (breath and movement aligned approach), we’ll use props and even the support of one another to discover the gifts of balancing and inverting. Expect to build flexibility, strength, and to ignite joy through a playful and creative vinyasa practice.
Slow + Steady (Hatha): Slow, soften and still. Students will be guided through a balanced, one-hour practice to include mindful movement with an emphasis on breath, pace and grace. Students will have the opportunity to integrate their movement practice with guided meditation at the end of class. Depending on the season, each session will feature a changing combination of asana (physical postures), pranayama (intentional breathing), meditation (concentration) and teachings on Yoga philosophy. May you be stable and may you be sweet.
Slow Flow + Sit: This Sunday sadhana is a 75-minute invitation to experience ease. Students will be guided through a balanced, one-hour sequence of mindful movement with emphasis on breath and alignment to support the nervous system. Students will have the opportunity to integrate their asana (postural) practice during a 15 minute guided meditation at the end of class. Depending on the season, each session will feature a changing combination of asana (physical postures), pranayama (breath guidance), meditation (concentration) and dharma (life) teachings.
Sunrise (Hatha) Vinyasa: The dawning of the sun reveals your truest nature which is stable, strong, and dignified. This class offers access to a Yoga practice that is unhurried, thoughtful, deliberate and meditative. Asana/ postures will be held longer than a typical flow class to offer time for the exploration of strong foundational alignment principles. This time may be supportive for the beginning student or the most advanced. Be kind to you and watch that ripple out into the world around you.
Wholehearted Yin: Slow down and invite yourself to experience release during this tranquil class offering. Students will be guided through a balanced, sequence of mindful *yin yoga postures with emphasis on guiding the breath to the benefit of the nervous system. Depending on the season, each session will feature a changing combination of asana (physical postures), pranayama (breath guidance), meditation (concentration) and dharma (life) teachings. *Yin yoga is a slow-paced, integrated Daoist approach to embodied practice that focuses on holding postures, or asanas, for longer durations (typically 3-5 minutes, sometimes longer) to target connective tissues like fascia, ligaments, and joints. Students are always welcome to take a more restful approach to practice especially given that this is an evening practice and the body is already supple!
Yin + Dharma: This class presents equal parts science and spirit. Yin Yoga can be experienced as a practice of optimal well-being for the whole self. This approach to Yoga presents new possibilities for transformation and holistic healing on all layers of being—body, mind, and heart. Unwind tension in the body to bring about long-lasting relief and health. Refresh the mind to bring clarity and deeper understanding and create spaciousness in the heart to let us live and love with greater ease and more joy. Most postures are practiced in a seated or supine position with the aid of props as needed. The Yin (Daoist Yoga) practice targets the connective tissues of the body which may support your aspirations for greater mobility and flexibility. Enjoy teachings on the Dharma while you practice.
Sunday Self-Care (Vinyasa, Hatha, Restore): Return to your natural state of inner peace and connection each Sunday evening at Heart Center. This 60-minute practice is designed to reduce stress, build strength and cultivate space for self care routines that can support you as you step into a new week with confidence, ease and gratitude in your heart. Welcome yourSelf as a priority, with just a little big of extra love from your community, meditation, breath and body!
Community Gathering Circles
Community Dharma + Sit: Meditation is considered the heart and crown jewel of many of the great ancient and modern contemplative arts. The essence of meditation, and its many forms, is universal and of deep practical benefit to all. We come to recognize that our minds are often more asleep than awake to the possibilities and beauty of each present moment. While it is within the nature of the mind to go "to sleep", it is also in its innate capacity to serve us in awakening to the fullness of our experience and to use that freshness to the advantage of ourselves, of others and the world all around us. Touching our wakefulness, and purposefully training to do so, benefits all sentient beings.
Monthly Self-Healers Circle: Join Gino Napolitano and Olivia Flood on the first Tuesday of each month for a guided journey into the subtle layers of body, mind, and spirit. Through exploration of self-healing practices, group discussion, and awareness exercises, you’ll cultivate a deeper connection with yourself and gain insight into the intricacies of being human. Each month, guides will introduce healing practices designed to illuminate the subtle energies within and around you. By bridging the material and spiritual aspects of healing, this circle offers an accessible and empowering space to awaken your innate ability to heal. Come as you are and discover the power of presence, awareness, and self-healing in community.
Monthly Interfaith Circle: Join RYT and Educator, Heidi Nehring, on the 2nd Tuesday of each month, to explore redefining relationship with Spirit, through meditation and community connection. In these sessions we explore the obstacles and barriers that may hinder us from having a greater connection with Spirit or Source. All faiths and practices are encouraged to attend as we walk through an exploration of what separates and what binds. Let us ask what it means to find common ground and to love one another.
Monthly Peer-led Men's Circle: This monthly circle (every third Tuesday) is intended to be a safe space for men (he/they - whomever identifies in this space) to listen and share alongside one another in an accepting community. Circle is peer-led, curated by Senior teacher Ron Moore. Participants are invited to introduce themselves and the facilitator will share an introductory grounding experience or present on a specific topic of interest. The remaining time is spent in community discussion and connection. All paths are welcome.
Monthly Women's Circle: Dr Jessica Larson (LP) and your community invite and welcome to show up in this group just as you are for this monthly connection circle (third Sunday at 4pm) tailored for individuals identifying as women. This group is built on authenticity, deep listening, and mutual support. Through meditative practice, reflective prompts/discussion, and shared presence, we create a sense of belonging that so many of us need. This is a place to reconnect with yourself in the safety of other women who value compassion and meaningful connection.
Monthly Peer-led Queer Circle: This monthly (every forth Tuesday) peer-led group is queer and trans facilitated and intended to be an inviting space for queer and trans people to listen and share alongside one another in an accepting community. Everyone is invited to introduce themselves and the peer-led facilitator will share an introduction to set the tone. The peer facilitator will cover the circle method, guide the group in a short centering, and present a topic that sparks community discussion. Guidance is peer provided with additional heart space held by Heart guides. We love and appreciate allies, however please understand that this space is for those identifying as queer or trans so as to provide a safe space free from the need to advocate or educate.
