The summer solstice marks the longest day of the year and the start of the astronomical summer. The changing of seasons are a time of transformation, change, nature and new beginnings. So this time of year is an opportunity to take stock, set our intentions and review those we might have made in the previous season or spring equinox. The ancient Himalayan technique of Yoga Nidrā can support us in taking our intentions and practice to a whole new level.
Yoga Nidrā is a guided practice designed to reorient one’s attention from the external world to the inner, subtle experiences within the body. In Yoga Nidrā we enter a space of non-action in order to simply be an “observer,” neutral to the contents of experience, whether occurring outside or inside of the body.
