Heart Hike - Rooting into Source Day Retreat
Come to Nature to Return, Return, Return
Your Invitation: Come to nature, come to the mountains and rolling hills, come meditate and pray underneath pine trees that have buried their roots into the nutrient rich soil, so their bodies may bend and sway at the command of the wind, making relationship through dance… Come to the wild, where stones have bedded themselves, resting in the Earth, allowing the Earth to cradle their full weight, supporting every aspect of being… Come to nature, allow yourself to return to source, to remember who you are, calm in heart and mind, wide open, with upwelling joy… Come to nature, witness the journey back home… return return return…
What to Expect: This immersive day-retreat experience is an invitation to develop and deepen an immediate connection with Source in the heart of nature. Whether individuals are questioning what Source is, have a desire to redefine relationship with Source, or wish to create an even deeper/richer connection, we will explore curiosities and spiritual practices to nourish this connection in the heart of nature with community. Our experience will include personal reflection through a shared meal, discussion, meditation, hiking (or wandering), journaling, and asana. Being human is enough - all are most welcome regardless of gender, faith, lifestyle, and ability.Â
What to Bring: Please dress for the weather and bring good hiking shoes/boots. Small pocket journals will be provided, along with snacks and tea/water, and bolsters. Lunch will be provided at the start of our retreat. Please let us know of allergies and food intolerances so we can ensure that all can enjoy, worry free. Bring your own yoga mat and any other creature comforts. (Note: During this experience, while we understand emergency contact for situations, we invite individuals to disconnect from smart watches, phones, etc. if possible for a more immediate connection with Source. Please feel free to bring a watch if you have access to one that is not connected to other/outside technology.) An invitation to arrive 15 minutes before the actual retreat start time to accommodate any personal needs and to settle into the space.
Description of Trekker Lodge: Trekker Lodge is in the heart of Lapham Peak in the Southern Kettle Moraine Forest unit. The lodge is spacious and offers a supportive environment complete with a fireplace, heat, water, bathrooms (found adjacent the property). Hiking paths are located right outside the lodge. There are several hills on the paths with various grades. Note: If snow is present, the main hiking trails will be closed and groomed for skiers, but the Ice Age Trail will remain open for hikers, which is also located near the lodge. If there is no snow, all hiking paths are available. Deer, cranes, and other forest creatures many times grace us with their presence. The parking lot is located up the path from the lodge.
