About The Event

Without movement our body-minds wouldn’t have a place to release, redirect or assimilate energy. If we mindfully allow and cultivate it, movement can more deeply serve us, our relationships and the greater world around us.

Join dancer, Michelle Zurita, in this moving meditation experience called Meant to Move! Here we explore the interconnection of body and mind as one unified force through the medium of dance. Throughout the guided practice participants will explore the energy of space, and of our unique humanness, to create a rhythm and sequence that is free, flowing and without end. Get curious and observe the dance of the body-mind in all its potential.

Dress just comfortably with ease to move. Class begins with a guided meditation, designed to cultivate stillness and intention. From there movements are slowly incorporated through the mindful awareness and listening to the body's natural intuition. Flow, dance, play to expand out into the world, informed by your true nature.

Exchange is $40.

About your guide: Michelle Zurita is a lifetime mover. She studied dance at Columbia College in Chicago and graduated with a BFA in Dance and Kinesiology. Her passion for movement began when she was a young child. At family events she would fearlessly storm the dance floor. Even without the dance floor, she couldn't stop the natural urge to wiggle and dance to the music of her latin roots. Michelle found meditation through her studies in modern dance and Yoga. It was through her practice with Yoga and meditation that she thought to incorporate her knowledge of the kinesthetic space and how the body moves within it. Michelle feels called to serve and hopes to inspire others to find balance between stillness and movement. She believes that we all have forms of self expression that can be awakened through play, dance, and meditation. We were meant to move.
