About The Event
Yoga for Neurodiversity is about meeting the needs of your unique nervous system in ways that feel most natural to you; this looks different for everyone, especially for neurodivergent folks with diagnoses such as autism, ADHD, bipolar, OCD, or dyslexia. Embodying your particular neurotype is a journey, and it can be harder if you’ve learned to “mask” or hide your neurodivergent traits, perhaps at the expense of self-care and self-love. It helps to have company along the way.
In these interactive and educational workshops, we’ll explore the different ways human beings sense, feel, think, and interact with the world. We’ll practice together as a neurodiverse community, learning how to breathe, move, and be in ways that support the particular needs of our individual nervous systems. All neurotypes are welcome, and no experience with yoga is necessary.
Participants should bring a yoga mat (available to rent) and dress comfortably for periods of sitting and light movement. Bring anything you need to feel at home… cool rocks, a pillow, snacks, note-taking tools, etc. Participate as much or as little as you like (observing is learning, too). Stimming is encouraged. You are invited to contact Becky ahead of time with questions about what to expect, or to communicate any accommodation needs.
Minimum requested donation is $5. If payment is a barrier, please contact Becky.
